Lebone Litho Printers acquires another Muller Martini Saddle Stitcher

Lebone Litho recently purchased another Muller Martini Saddle Stitcher to compliment the existing Presto E90 machine on the bindery floor. This newly acquired Prima Plus Saddle Stitcher has 6 feeders, an integrated cover feeder, inline three knife trimmer and an automatic compensating stacker. All of these can operate at a mechanical speed of 14 000 copies per hour. Having six feeders means that the machine can produce a 96 page A4 magazine in one pass. The machine is equipped with a center cutting device so two up production of A5 and DL work is easily accomplished. The high levels of automation on this saddle stitcher means that Lebone Litho will be able to process more saddle stitched jobs through the bindery and with much more efficiency than was previously the case.
We have always been positioned so that most of our saddle stitched work was relatively short in run length. Because we have been attracting more long run webfed magazine work, we were forced to investigate the quicker make ready and faster output / production speed machines and again Muller Martini came out tops. The Prima Plus was perfectly suited to our needs and the balance of space requirements, price and ultimate production capacity made our decision an easy one.
Technical specification at a glance are:
Max size – 480 x 320
Min size – 105 x 115
4 stitching heads
Maximum product thickness – 10mm
Two up production – yes
6 feeders
1 hand feed station
